Fertility & Functional Wellness
Hi, I’m Alyssa — Functional Wellness Specialist with a background in fertility nursing. I help women uncover the deeper factors impacting their fertility so they can feel more confident, informed, and connected to their bodies.
Through my own journey and years working in fertility care, I help women feel seen, supported, and empowered on their fertility journey — whether you're trying naturally, prepping for IVF, or somewhere in between.

My Personal Story

My journey into fertility and functional wellness wasn’t driven by a textbook or a certification. It was driven by my own experience.

For as long as I can remember, I felt like something in my body was off.

Even as a teenager, I was told something might be going on with my thyroid based on my symptoms. But every time labs were checked, I was told everything was “normal.”

That pattern followed me for years.
I often felt inflamed, struggled with my weight, and knew something wasn’t quite right, but I didn’t have answers.
Later, when I began trying to conceive, that same pattern continued.
I struggled with infertility and was again told everything looked “normal,” even though I knew something wasn’t right.

My cycles were irregular and barely there. My AMH was extremely low for my age. I felt like I was constantly searching for answers but never truly understanding what was going on.
I eventually conceived through treatment, but I hadn’t addressed what was happening underneath.
And that showed up quickly.
During pregnancy, I became severely sick.
I was throwing up for months and lost over 20 pounds. I could barely eat, and my body became incredibly depleted and malnourished.
I remember bringing up my concerns, knowing how weak my body felt, but I was reassured that everything looked fine.
Meanwhile, my body was getting weaker and weaker.
After giving birth, things unraveled even further.
I went into an autoimmune crisis that I didn’t even realize was building. It felt like my body had been pushed to its breaking point and could no longer keep compensating.
That’s when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s.
I found myself exhausted, inflamed, overwhelmed, and barely functioning.
And I remember thinking how frustrating it was that as a nurse, my role was to help people feel better, yet I couldn’t figure out what my own body needed.
I didn’t realize at the time how much my body was struggling underneath it all.
It wasn’t until I began looking at my health from a whole-body perspective that things started to change.
I uncovered gut imbalances, inflammation, and severe nutrient depletion that had been overlooked for years.
For the first time, everything made sense.
As I began addressing those pieces, my body started to recover.
My energy returned.
My mind felt clear again.
My cycles became stronger and more consistent.
And for the first time, I felt like my body was working with me instead of against me.
That experience changed everything for me.
I know what it feels like to be searching for answers, to be told everything is normal when it doesn’t feel that way, and to feel like you’re left to figure it out on your own.
And I know the shift that happens when things finally start to make sense and your body begins to feel supported again.
This is why I do this work.
Because when you support your body at the foundation, it doesn’t just impact fertility. It changes how you feel in your body every day.
You deserve to feel that.
And I’m here to help you get there.
Why I Created Balance & Bloom

Working inside IVF and fertility clinics only confirmed it.
Women were overwhelmed with information, dismissed when bringing up symptoms, and left trying to make sense of their cycles, hormones, digestion, and overall wellbeing on their own.
As I worked with women day after day, I started noticing patterns.
So many were struggling with thyroid symptoms, gut issues, inflammation, anxiety, and ongoing imbalances that were often brushed off as “part of infertility.”
But just because something is common does not mean it is normal.
These patterns weren’t random.
They were signals that something deeper was going on.
One of the hardest parts was seeing these patterns so clearly, while also recognizing the limits of what could be addressed within the traditional model of care.
Fertility clinics play an important role, but they are often fast-paced and focused on specific protocols. There isn’t always space to explore the deeper lifestyle, nutritional, gut, stress, and inflammatory patterns that are influencing the body.
I found myself wanting to connect the dots for women in a way I couldn’t fully do in that setting.
I created Balance & Bloom to offer what I wish every woman had, a space where her concerns are taken seriously, her symptoms make sense, and her whole body is considered, not just her labs or diagnosis.
My mission is to change the way we approach fertility and women’s wellness through education, deeper understanding, and support that helps women feel clear, informed, and empowered.
Balance & Bloom brings together everything I’ve learned as a fertility nurse, a functional wellness specialist, and a woman who has walked this path herself.
It’s here to help you understand your body more deeply and finally get the support you’ve been missing.

After walking through my own fertility challenges, pregnancy complications, and autoimmune crisis, I began to see how many women were experiencing the same confusion I once felt, being told everything looked “normal,” even when nothing felt normal.

My Approach
The Five Petals of Fertility Wellness
Fertility is not determined by one hormone, one symptom, or one moment in time.
It is the reflection of how the entire body is functioning — physically, emotionally, energetically, and environmentally.

My approach blends science-informed functional wellness with compassionate, whole-body support. It is designed to help you understand why your body is responding the way it is, and what it needs to feel safe, balanced, and supported again.

To make this process clear and approachable, I use a framework I created called The Five Petals of Fertility Wellness — a holistic structure that looks at fertility through multiple lenses rather than isolating one piece of the puzzle.

The Five Petals include:
-
Mindset & Emotional Resilience
-
Stress & Lifestyle Balance
-
Nutrition & Gentle Detox Foundations
-
Physical & Hormonal Health
-
Connection, Spirituality & Belief Systems
Each petal represents a key area that influences fertility and whole-body wellness.
And the truth is, most women have imbalances in more than one of these areas — not because they’ve done anything wrong, but because modern life has made it almost impossible not to.

We explore each petal at a pace that feels supportive and aligned with your unique story.
There is no “one-size-fits-all” pathway.
Your body leads — and we listen.

What this means for you
My approach is not about quick fixes, fear-based changes, or unrealistic routines.
It’s about helping you:
-
understand your body clearly
-
uncover root-cause patterns
-
calm inflammation and stress
-
support digestion, hormones, and detox pathways
-
reconnect with your intuition
-
create supportive routines and nourishment
-
build resilience emotionally and physically
-
feel safe, balanced, and grounded in your fertility journey
When the body feels supported — not overwhelmed — fertility often becomes more available.
This approach isn’t meant to replace medical care, but to complement it by addressing the deeper factors that are often overlooked. My role is to guide, educate, and support you through a process that honors your whole self — not just your labs or symptoms.
Healing isn’t linear.
But it IS possible.
And you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Who I Support
I work with women who are ready to understand their bodies on a deeper level — whether they’re trying to conceive, preparing for IVF, navigating unexplained symptoms, or simply wanting to feel more balanced, energized, and connected to themselves.

Most women who find their way here share similar feelings:
they’re overwhelmed with information, unsure what to trust, tired of being told everything looks “normal,” and ready for clarity that finally makes sense.

You don’t need a diagnosis to deserve support.
You only need the desire to understand your body and the hope that healing is possible.
If you’re looking for someone who will listen, connect the dots, and walk with you through the deeper layers of your fertility and wellness journey—you’re in the right place.
